Tournament Rules and Format

Date: 10/15/23

Time: check in opens at 9:30am and bowling starts at 10:30am

Sponsored by Brunswick and Hammer:

• Anyone who pre registers for this tournament may buy any current hammer or Brunswick bowling ball for $105 (which includes shipping, one per bowler only).

1. Tournament Overview:

The Adult / Junior Roll and Rise Bowling Tournament is a scratch bowling tournament that follows USBC rules. The tournament aims to provide a competitive platform for both adult and junior bowlers, allowing juniors to compete for scholarship money and adults for cash prizes.

2. Eligibility:

• The teams are made up of one Junior bowler and one Adult bowler.

• Adult bowlers must be at least 18 years old and possess a valid USBC membership.

• Junior bowlers must be 20 years old or younger and also have a valid USBC membership.

• All participants must adhere to USBC rules and regulations.

3. Entry and Registration:

•$120 per team entry fee

•$60 per bowler

• Breakdown of entry fee $38 prize fund - $22 lineage/expense.

4. Tournament Structure:

• The tournament consists of 4 games bowled on a sport shot oil pattern.

• Games are bowled across 8 lanes, with each team moving to a new pair of lanes after each game.

• Scoring will be based on scratch scores (no handicaps).

5. Prizes:

• Junior bowlers who cash will receive scholarship money, which will be deposited into their smart accounts for educational purposes.

• Adult bowlers who cash will receive cash prizes.

• There will be separate side pot cash brackets and high game pots for adult bowlers.

• No side pots are available for junior bowlers.

• 1 in 6 will cash.

6. Cut to Finals:

• The top 4 teams (composed of one adult and one junior bowler) will advance to the step ladder finals.

• Teams will be ranked based on their total pinfall from the 4 games.

7. Step Ladder Finals:

• The step ladder finals will be in baker style format.

• The fourth-ranked team will compete against the third-ranked team, with the winner advancing.

• The second-ranked team will then compete against the winner of the previous match, determining the final two teams.

• The championship match will feature the top-ranked team against the winner of the previous match.

8. Payouts:

• Payouts for scholarship money and cash prizes will be distributed based on final rankings in the tournament.

• Payouts will be made after the conclusion of the step ladder finals.

9. Code of Conduct:

• All participants are expected to adhere to proper sportsmanship and etiquette during the tournament.

• Any violation of USBC rules or unsportsmanlike behavior may result in disqualification.

10. Changes and Disputes:

• The tournament organizers reserve the right to make changes to the format or rules if necessary.

• Any disputes will be resolved by the tournament director, and their decision will be final.

11. Conclusion:

• The Adult / Junior Roll and Rise Bowling Tournament provides an opportunity for both adult and junior bowlers to compete at a high level, with the chance to win scholarship money and cash prizes. The tournament aims to promote fair play, skill development, and a sense of camaraderie among all participants.
